Writing scientific texts in LaTeX and Emacs can be painful in many aspects, not least one having to format references in BibTex. Although reference managers exist which can export to BibTeX, and some Websites support BibTex export, this is cumbersome (requiring a lot clicks or keystrokes) or messy (BibTex fields are messed up or contain weird characters). The fine solution is to use PubMode in Emacs which allows one to search pubmed.org with (complex) search terms and import references into fine BibTex format without ever leaving Emacs!
